My Cat Likes My Roommate More Than Me

Today i want to discuss favoritism in pets how it can affect the relationship dynamic between not only pets and humans but also cohabiting humans as well.

My cat likes my roommate more than me. My name is maxine and i have been a part of the rsr team since 2011 working with both cats and dogs. I ve lived with my roommate for six months now and she babies the crap out of my cat as in my cat gets to have outside time every drat day on our patio and gets a treat when it s time to come inside. We adopted two kittens last year. I don t know why but all of a sudden the cats stopped sleeping in my room and only want to be in my roommates room.

My cats wouldnt eat off the floor if he was starving to death. Every time they see him they rush to the fence and will cry and reach out to him like he s a beatle and it s the 1960 s. We have more than 3 cats. Sort of like if you walked up to a human on the street and gave him a big hug from behind.

I ve had my cat for a year and a half and he s the coolest cat ever loves to cuddle loves to play all good cat things. Recently since the quarantine we switched who fed them in the morning since she now comes back from work at 6am graveyard. My cat really enjoyed the new baby and always layed next to us on the bed or couch well about 2 months ago we went to washington for 3 weeks and my roommate cat sitted her for me but for some reason since we got back she s been so mad at me she used to sleep with me all the time and now she won t acknowledge me at all she will sleep with. One is hers and one is mine.

They don t really like me or my roommate having a little bit of progress with that though but they are in love with my cat. My husband and i have three cats. My cat s like my roommate more than me. Surely there are more important things to study and learn.
